Responsible food recovery has been a guiding principle in our day to day activities at the Arizona Kosher Pantry. We work with local area food banks and pantries, local food establishments, local groceries, food distributers, and farmers collecting excess food. We then responsibly distribute the collected food to the homeless, needy, and impoverished throughout the city from our location and at times through our mobile programs.

We also educate our staff about the local and regional wasted food prevention and diversion efforts.

Working with area farmers, when our fresh produce turns, we supply local farmers with food for their animals. This is but one of many examples of how we are practicing responsible food stewardship principles.

We are participating in the second tier of EPA’s Food Recovery Hierarchy.
